Cypher Research Laboratories Pty Ltd (CRL) is a privately owned Australian company specialising in the design and manufacture of tactical data systems incorporating high grade encryption, high grade encryption modules, associated products and accessories. We also manufacture HF/SSB radio systems, covert communications, surveillance and electronic warfare systems, TEMPEST capable equipment and fibre optic products for government and military users. CRL also supplies releasable products to law-enforcement and para-military operations in the region.
The company was founded in 1980 and has its facilities
located in Cairns, Far North Queensland, Australia.
Our goal is to deliver rugged, cost effective, and technically advanced
equipment to meet the specific mission requirements of the Australian
Defence Force.
CRL's products are in service with the Departments of Defence in Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Singapore and Malaysia. CRL also supplies equipment to the Australian Customs Service, the Coastwatch surveillance operation and the Departments of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Attorney General.
All Cypher Research Laboratories products are marketed under the CYCOM® brand name and we are able to offer complete turn-key solutions for tactical secure voice, data, frequency agile HF/SSB, unattended surveillance and tactical electronic warfare.
CRL operates in The Defence Industrial Security Program and its staff, facilities and systems are fully accredited for the design and manufacture of High Grade cryptographic systems and the design, development and manufacture of other classified equipment.
Our company offers all customers purchasing our products
a full design and integration capability, rapid in-country component
level repair, extended warranty and guaranteed service life. In certain
circumstances CRL will provide engineering advice and support to assist
long term customers with problems they may be encountering with third
party equipment.
